Strong and Steady

If you, or someone you know, have concerns with balance and want to develop more confidence within your own home, then the Strong and Steady programme could be for you.

Staying Strong and Steady

The programme is specifically for people over the age of 65 who have recently fallen or who have concerns with their balance, and who have been assessed by the Trust’s Community Assessment and Rehabiltation Team.

The free sessions include a specific falls prevention exercise session, support with a simple home based programme, educational talks and opportunities to socialise with other members of the group who have also fallen or have balance problems.

One participant said: “I have strengthened muscles, I have learnt which ones are useful to benefit mobility and I feel more confident walking. I have enjoyed the classes, I’ve got a lot of confidence and generally feel good.”
