What’s cooking in the cookery club kitchen this winter?
After a successful first round of cookery clubs back in October, there will be a new round of FREE Good Food in Greenwich cookery clubs starting this November. The five-week ‘Taste of Health Cookery Clubs’ are open to everyone and are a great way to learn how to cook meals that are healthy, delicious and low-budget.
Our qualified tutors offer great advice on eating a healthy, balanced diet by making small changes that make a big difference to your health – all while keeping within your budget. The course includes a week dedicated to food growing, where you can learn about herbs used in cooking and for health, and how to grow your own herbs and salads in the smallest of spaces in and around your home! You’ll also learn to understand food labelling to find out what’s in the food you buy at the supermarket. You can find out more about food labels on NHS Choices.
Recipes to see you through the colder months
You don’t have to be experienced to join our clubs as the courses are open to everyone, from complete beginners to those who are a dab hand in the kitchen. All ingredients, equipment and aprons are provided and all participants will get a free recipe book on completion of the course, featuring recipes prepared during the five weeks.
We’ve had some fantastic feedback from some of the hundreds of people in Greenwich borough who have already taken part since January this year. The cookery clubs are a great way of meeting new people and exchanging hints and tips so why not have a look for a free Taste of Health Cookery club near you?
